Poker Training Sites: Poker Pwnage

Posted by PokerBankrollManagement on June 28, 2010 at 3:25 PM

I have already mentioned two training sites that focus on ring games in US poker rooms, so today I thought I’d feature a site that makes videos for MTTs. Poker Pwnage is a pretty fresh face in the industry, and their main goal is to create poker videos for people that prefer tournament poker. For full access, you’ll pay a $35 activation fee and then $24.99 per month. This is more than at GrinderSchool but less than at Cardrunners.

If you just can’t win any of the tournaments you play on your Full Tilt Poker download, Poker Pwnage might be the right site for you. They have 300+ online poker videos, and all of them were created by a few of the world’s most skillfull multi-table tournament poker professionals. If you’re a fan of the World Series, you’ll already know that two of their pros have already made final tables this year. Adrian “Chardrian” Dresel-Velasquez cashed for $43,000 in a Limit event and David “GhettoFabolous” Randall cashed for $270,000 in a No Limit event.

If you don’t really like MTT poker and you’re more of a Sit-N-Go player, you’ll also benefit from Poker Pwnage. There are videos for stakes between $10 and $100, and if you don’t like full ring games, you can learn about short handed or heads-up instead. It’s possible to learn the basics, but there are some more advanced tips to be had, as well. You’ll still benefit from these videos even if you’ve been playing Sit-N-Go’s for a number of years now.

You will not find a lot of videos for cash games, so you shouldn’t bother with this site if you’re even remotely a cash game player. Right now there are only five cash videos, and we might be waiting a while before the next one. If you mostly sit at Draw tables after using a PokerStars Bonus Code, this site is also not for you. You’ll find only Hold Em, and it doesn’t look like they plan to change this anytime soon.

It’s a refreshing change to come across a site that focuses on tournament play, so most people won’t criticize their lack of cash strategy. When you’re a member, you can be confident that the advice you’ll receive is capable of turning you into a winning player. After you’ve gone through the video catalogue, it’s possible that you won’t find yourself making an additional poker deposit on TigerGaming for the rest of your poker career!
